The Virgin Valley Water District, 500 Riverside Road, Mesquite, Nevada 89027, is seeking a full-time Water System Engineer for a 9,000+ customer base and growing water district.
The District Engineer will, amongst other duties: operate and maintain the District’s water model, perform water system designs using Civil 3D, maintain and update the District’s Master Plan, maintain and update the District’s GIS system, help maintain compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, review development construction drawings for compliance with the District’s Standard Specifications, prepare plans and specifications for District water projects, represent the District with consulting engineering firms active in the Mesquite area, represent the District with various governmental agencies, and other duties and activities as required.
The successful applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on water or equivalent experience in community water system design, construction, operation, and maintenance. The successful candidate must be licensed in the State of Nevada as a Professional Civil Engineer. Starting salary range is $65,000 – $75,000 commensurate with experience.
