Founded in 1881, AWWA is the authoritative resource on safe water, providing knowledge, information and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of water in North America and beyond. AWWA is an international nonprofit and educational society and the largest and oldest organization of water professionals in the world. Membership includes more than 4,600 utilities that supply water to roughly 180 million people in North America. The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) is a cooperative agency formed in 1991 to address Southern Nevada’s unique water needs on a regional basis. SNWA officials are charged with managing the region’s water resources and providing for Las Vegas Valley area residents’ and businesses’ present and future water needs.
