The Virgin Valley Water District was formed by the Nevada Senate and Assembly on May 10, 1993 (Chapter 100, Statutes of Nevada 1993). The District was enacted to:
- provide adequate and efficient water service, which is vital to the economy and well-being of the residents of the Virgin Valley area...
- create a governmental entity to administer water services for the residents of the Virgin Valley, and...
- create a single governmental entity, succeeding the Bunkerville Water User's Association and the Mesquite Farmstead Water Association.
